Contact support
Email eric.james.holshouser@emory.edu. Include the email address on your Tour account, the device you are using, and a short description of what happened. Do not email health records, passwords, authentication codes, or workout routes.
Workout synchronization
For the initial release, iPhone participants install Build 44 with the organizer's TestFlight link and Android participants join the organizer's Google Play internal test. Your Apple or Google account is only for installing the beta; inside Tour, sign in with your Tour registration email. Grant the requested read permissions and select a workout source. On iPhone Build 44, tap Return to Tour after Apple Health connects. Add Apple Health or Health Connect separately only if you want Tour step totals. A first sync is recommended when you have an eligible workout but is not required to finish setup.
iPhone or Apple Watch
Allow read access to Workouts, Workout Routes, and Steps. To repair access, open Health, tap your picture or initials, choose Apps or Devices, select Tour de Goizueta, and turn on all three read permissions. Apple protects health privacy by returning the same result when read access is denied and when no matching data exists, so recheck every switch if a workout or steps are missing. See Apple's Health permission instructions.
Android, Samsung, or Fitbit
Before opening the testing link, use the Google account the organizer approved for the internal test; an unapproved account cannot install the app. That Google email can differ from your Tour registration email. Allow Health Connect read access for Exercise, Distance, Elevation Gained, Steps, and Health Data History. To repair access, open Health Connect, choose Permissions and data, then App permissions, select Tour de Goizueta, and allow every requested permission. Also confirm the wearable's app is writing its workout and step data to Health Connect. Install or update Health Connect if Device Readiness says it is unavailable. See Google's Health Connect permission instructions.
Strava or Garmin
Connect Strava on the signed-in setup page, approve activity read access, and explicitly select Strava for workouts. Strava supplies workouts only. The phone app is optional for setup but required for Tour step totals. Garmin participants should first confirm Garmin Connect has placed the workout in Apple Health or Health Connect; direct Garmin should be used only when it is visibly available in Tour Settings.
When a sync is missing
- Confirm the activity is cycling, running, or walking and contains distance.
- Confirm the activity appears inside the health source selected for workouts.
- Repair the permissions above, return to Tour de Goizueta, and tap Sync again.
- Check the selected workout source, selected step source, last-sync time, and synchronization results in the app.
If something is missing, repair permissions and sync again. Do not create a second copy unless Tour Support or an organizer asks you to do so. Strava uses the synchronization window shown in the app. Manual workout entries require organizer review.
Download the two-page Sync Setup and Tour 101 guide.
Privacy and account control
Tour de Goizueta sends only eligible workout summaries and aggregate stage-window step totals. Routes, GPS coordinates, heart rate, calories, speed samples, and raw health payloads are not transmitted. Review the Privacy Policy for the exact workout-summary fields used by the Tour. You can disconnect a workout source without deleting previously accepted competition history. To permanently remove your account-linked data, follow the account deletion instructions.
Response and availability
Support is provided by Venture Physiology LLC for invited Tour participants. During active competition stages, requests affecting a cutoff or finalized score should be submitted as soon as possible and will follow the organizer-review rules.
